What can you do for very fine, thin hair?

I have long hair, about 6 inches past my shoulders. I like my hair long but I have very very fine hair. I have asked several people that do hair if there is anything that I can do to make my hair look fuller. They all tell me no, other than getting a perm. Because my hair is so fine, a perm doesnt last too long and I dont want to damage it more by getting another perm. They told me that cutting it shorter or getting layers will not help. Anyone with my problem or do you know of anything I can do? i am so sick of having strangly thin hair.

I have hair about your length that is very fine. I use moose or a root booster such as Catwalk Root Boost you can get from a salon. It makes it look much thicker than it really is. Also, properly blow drying your hair with a round brush can make a difference too. Good luck!

Start by using a volumeizing shampoo and skipping the conditioner on a daily basis. Condition only once or twice a week. Use Velcro rollers when drying your hair to smooth and add volume, you can also blow dry your hair upside down. Hot rollers can also work when you have time. Lastly if you have the money, you can always have extensions put in your hair to add the volume you are looking for.

Also you can use a root lifter, moose, and hairspray. Product works miracles! I wouldn't recommend a weave.. When I had cut my hair really short I liked it for a short time.. Then I wanted my long hair back... My hair is also very thin and at the time was damaged.. So I too was told that wasn't a good idea.. What I did was go to the beauty supply shop and got a human hair pony tail that way it mad my hair longer and I didn't have to deal with my short hair..They make human hair pony tails and they are so easy to put on.. You put your hair in a pony tail and then put this fake pony tail over and its like a draw string.. You tighten it and its all done.. That may be your best bet that way you can get some conditioning treatments on your hair so you can get it as healthy as possible.. Hope that helps you..

It will break your hair off, I have so many friends that are african american and they have damaged hair as a result of a sew in. And because your hair is thin, I would not recommend that you do it.

I have reallllly long hair. I straighten it EVERY DAY without fail %26amp; use a hir dryer all the time. It is quite thin %26amp; limp... well it was until I started using "Loreal Elvive" Either for coloured hair or the pink bottle. Use a LOT of conditioner, Not so much shampoo.

Another thing, try to buy a tub of "Deep Conditioner" such as the elvive one... although it's a bit pricy. Try Henna wax, once or so a week, just to give it a good condition. Leave these in as much as you can, at least an hour.

Also try and trim your hair every so often to prevent split ends!

Best thing to do is when you have it cut, have then using thinning shears to make it less thick %26amp; heavy. This does not change your actual style you just had cut into your hair- it really works great. My sister has tons of hair %26amp; she has this done every time she gets a cut %26amp; loves the results.
