I have been taking thyroid medication for 8 months and have not seen any hair grow back. I am 52 and began menopause at 47. I have very thinning hair and balding on top of my head. I have started to wear a wig because I feel so unattractive and look so old. For many years I asked my doctor why my hair was thinning and he said my iron levels then were fine but it was normal for my age to lose hair and it was probably heredity. No one in my family has hair loss. Can anyone reccommend how if at all I can get my hair to return . I even wonder if my diagnosis of thyroid is correct. I am also type 2 diabetic and not on meds just diet controlled. Diabetes does run in my family. I am taking blood pressure medication since my diagnosis of a thyroid problem.
Can anyone reccommend a safe natural way to reduce hair loss. Any hair growth would be a miracle for me. I find wearing a wig not that comfortable but I wear it to avoid insults from people.
Will my hair ever grow back from a diagnosed thyroid condition which is called Hashimotos?
Being a menopausal woman myself, not having any thyroid condition or any other illness that requires medication, I suffer from hair loss for years now and I am very unhappy about the situation but NOTHING helps just nothing, sorry to say. I tried vitamins, lotions etc. nothing even stops the hair loss which goes on all the time. I am as unhappy as you and as so many other women world wide.
