How do you thin out your hair with a razor??

I've seen a lot of people on here who like to thin their hair with a razor instead of with thinning shears. How do you do that, and is that with a regular leg-shaving type razor?

It's done with a razor made especially for hair...does not look like razors you use to shave your legs. It is used to thin the hair out...not as heavy or bulky in places such as the crown. Also used in styles where the hair has more of a messy look to it...the razor cuts the hair in uneven wispy pieces. When I wore my hair short, I loved having it cut with the razor. My daughters still get some of the long layers in their hair done with the razor.

No, you use a hair cutting razor. You can probably get one at Sally's. What the razor does is cut your hair into a lot of tiny layers. You start where you want the thinning to start and you go along the ends in a downward motion all the way to the botton of your hair.

Buy a thinning comb, it's a comb with a blade that thins your hair as you comb through it, thats bout the only way to thin your hair is with some type of razor.
