I have long hair, about 6 inches past my shoulders. I like my hair long but I have very very fine hair. I have asked several people that do hair if there is anything that I can do to make my hair look fuller. They all tell me no, other than getting a perm. Because my hair is so fine, a perm doesnt last too long and I dont want to damage it more by getting another perm. They told me that cutting it shorter or getting layers will not help. Anyone with my problem or do you know of anything I can do? i am so sick of having strangly thin hair.

So I too was told that wasn't a good idea.. I have reallllly long hair. I straighten it EVERY DAY without fail %26amp; use a hir dryer all the time. It is quite thin %26amp; limp... well it was until I started using "Loreal Elvive" Either for coloured hair or the pink bottle. Use a LOT of conditioner, Not so much shampoo.

Another thing, try to buy a tub of "Deep Conditioner" such as the elvive one... although it's a bit pricy. Try Henna wax, once or so a week, just to give it a good condition. Leave these in as much as you can, at least an hour.

Also try and trim your hair every so often to prevent split ends!

Best thing to do is when you have it cut, have then using thinning shears to make it less thick %26amp; heavy. This does not change your actual style you just had cut into your hair- it really works great. My sister has tons of hair %26amp; she has this done every time she gets a cut %26amp; loves the results.

This look is my favorite by far, but if you want sophisticated curls, blow dry with a round brush . and use your curling iron, easy to use. It'll look cute!

I use mousse. any kind really.. but the best is probably Herbal Essance in the purple can or VO5 in red squatty can.

What you do is, when your hair is wet after you've washed it. squeeze the water out and then part it however you want it and put the mousse in your hands, thenapply it to your roots an the ends of your hair..

Then toss your head over and apply all throughout your hair. grab your hair in your hands and scrunch it however you want it, then, toss your head back over and do that same.

and just keep doing that until it looks how you want it to!! :)

The BEST way to get and maintain volume is not in the specific styling product, but in the method of use. Any texturizing or volumizing gel or rootlifter can work if used properly. I recommend Biolage styling gel or Big Sexy Hair rootlifter to be put in hair before blowdrying. Make sure you get product on the roots of your hair where the volume is need, but don't go overboard as too much product can cause your hair to be weight down.

After applying the product, blow dry your hair while lifting from the roots. You can do this by using a vent round brush or by bending at the waist so your hair is upside down.

When your hair is dry, hit it for a few seconds with the cool setting on your blowdryer to set the style.

After drying, style as usual. More volume can be obtained by rolling hair with velcro rollers and setting them with a blowdryer or by using a curling iron to lift the roots futher.

If you do want to flat iron your hair, try to avoid the roots as they tend to flatten hair at the crown, which gets rid of the volume that you blow dried into your hair.

i have very fine hair with a similar face shape also, the best cut is just above the shoulders with a few different lengths to texturise the hair, this also makes your hair appear thicker and try a hair thickening shampoo and conditioner, i find they really work but you'll also need a texturising spray to control the shape and cut without weighing the cut down.

I too struggle with really thick hair. There is no solution that does exactly what you just described because even a chemical treatment will grow out, and I don't think there even is a chemical thinner. Here are the options I live in to tame my mane. I have found that a chemical straightener is really helpful. Even though my hair is not curly it will lay flat when it has been straightened. This is just as damaging as a perm so be prepared to care for dry hair afterwords. I also find that wearing my hair long weighs it down enough that is will lay flatter that way too. a razor cut? that's what i have on my bangs, and yes it does give you split ends, but you can use deep conditioner to help repair it. i love my razor cut, since i have diagonal bangs across one side of my face, and the slightly split ends give it a more dramatic look.

Its just called getting your hair thinned, they use a special sissor that cuts some of the hair sections 1-2 short while leaving the rest long.Im not sure if this would work well on your hair since it is curly, you have to be carefull because if they cut the sections too short youll have spikey hairs sticking up which is annoying.Some people think it is damaging but realy its just cutting random hairs short (close to the scalp) so I dont think it is damaging.I think a better option maybe relaxing or straightning your hair, have you tried that? getting the curl out will make it flatter, good luck

I am not sure how this works on very curly hair, but a barber/hairdresser can thin and shape your hair with a razor type pair of shears - a friend had it done when she cut her hair really really short. You can bleach your hair but it will cause a bit of damaging as bleach actually takes out color pigmentation from the hair. It will not make ur hair thicker. Your best off getting a full head of blonde foils it will look much better. Breakage will most likely happen as it weakens your hair but you wont go bald. try not to straighten it every day and it will be ok.

I had the same problem. I got my hiar thinned by my hiar stylist. She used these scissors that cut a little of my hair at a time and you cant tell at all. But if you get your hair razored, remember that can ruin your hair. So I dont recommend it. Either way you do have to get it done about every2 months or so. good luck

I would definatly go for the CHI, but make sure you get products to put in your hair before you flat iron. Chi makes one it is to protect you from the heat damage while your hair is wet you will spray it in comb it through with a wide tooth comb and let hair dry i would let it air dry since you are going to flat iron it. Once dry take small sections and iron it. Another product that you can put in before if CHI is too expensive (i can't remember the price off hand) is Biosilk Silk Therapy be careful though with that use only a small amount and it goes on dry hair. If you use too much it will make you look like a grease head.

If you want your hair to grow faster and be healthier i would try using Biotin. I had a stylist recommend it to me, and it really does help it alot. I would buy vitamins from GNC because they monitor what goes into their products while other places like Wal-Mart and CVS and Walgreens don't. I would recommend taking about 2500 mcg a day to start out, i take about 5000mcg a day but i've used them for a year now. In addition, a volumizing mousse (Sunsilk, Herbal Essences, etc.) can help. Instead of applying it all through your hair, try sectioning parts of your hair and rubbing the mousse into the roots. Then, flip your head over upside down and blow dry. If you do this at night instead of the day, do it before bed and use a plastic claw-clip to clip up the top section of your hair while you sleep (put it on the TOP of you head, not the back).

If you need to reactivate your product in the evening because your hair went flat during the day, try rubbing some water into the roots where the mousse was, and then blow-drying a little more.
