Use a hair product that says thickening or bodifying on the label. I like a combination of Tigi root boost (hold pieces of your hair up and spray on the roots) and some sort of thickening gel. My best advice is to splurge on an expensive hair cut at a good salon and buy some of the products that the stylist recommends. You can also use shampoo and conditioner for extra body.

You can always put Volumizing shampoo to make it look bigger and cutting your hair in layers also gives the illusion thats its thicker.

Yes, I used this shampoo called mane,tail, and body something like that. It has a horse on the cover. It will make your hair cleaner and thicker cause it worked on mine. It is designed to be used on horses but it is pefectly safe for human use because they actually tell you on the bottle.

Any product that say volumizing will help make your hair look thicker (like mousse or shampoo) by giving you more lift at the roots. Also, a blowdryer attachment like a diffuser helps create volume. You can't change the thickness of your hair unless it's thin because of a nutritional deficiency, but if that is the case then hair vitamins would help.

well when ur younger ur hair grows nice n faster b/c of the exercise n deit u've grown up with...i had the same problem u have i use to have long hair down where my bra strap is and i choped it to ear length and it took awhile to grow back...but now its past my clavical...took 2yrs to find the best way to grow it back...what i do is i use oil base condionter n shampoo and precondition my hair b4 i wash it like hot oil treatments or put cond. on the ends of my hair then i wash it and i leave a lil put of cond. on the ends to keep it perfect from the heat n also from brushin it like crazy..i also take prenatal vitamins which help b/c of the folic aicd and vitamin b...also just trim the ends where u see a split end not to much just enough so it won't go ne higher...if u try this method it should help the hair to come back nice b/c i told my friend the same thing n she can't stop tellin me thank u

They should be avoided on thin hair really, as you dont want to add any damage. Also the feathery type style would look bit odd with a perm. I've used rogaine which works, it's extremely annoying to use though as you have to put it on every day without fail to get a really good effect, or hair growth is uneven. Try shaving or a short cut as well. I messed around with a few styles, and the faux-hawk looks best on me.

I did read that a woman can lose as much as half her hair within the first few months of having a baby. I lost a lot of my hair after my son was born. It's still really thin to this day. I'd go to the doctor. Maybe you have some kind of deficiency now that your baby is born. I have thin hair as well and have always been self conscious about it. I used to hate going to the beauty parlors cause they always felt the need to give me a beehive. I finally found a cut and a salon I love. I have a bunch of choppy layers (done with a razor) with shorter ones on top to add thickness and height and I have it in a angled bob (like katie holmes and victoria beckham). It's not as short as vicotrias though. So the back is shorter than the front which allows the look of depth and at the same time the longer strands in the front help to elongate my face (I too have round features). It's really cute and very easy to maintain plus it's in. Also if you can get your hands on some shampoo you should get Graham Webb's Thick Infusion Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner. I have tried everything and this works the best. I got it at the salon and it came to roughly $22 for both. Good Luck I know your pain.

one of the best ways to cut very thick hair is to get long layers. you can keep your hair the same length, but they'll make short layers all the way up to your face.

it is much easier to manage than it was when hair is really thick.

or they can take a razor and razor the underneath and then it wouldn't be as visible as thinning on the outside.

you should go to a professional stylist, not a place like best cuts or great clips. go to a real salon and spend 40 bucks or whatever because they know a lot more about cutting hair than girls at chain salons.

Here's what you gotta do:

1. Get a vitamin E capsule (most of them comes in gel capsule form that has a liquid inside. Any brand will do.)

2. Get a needle and pop the capsule.

I would trim off the split ends, and give it a hot oil treatment. Then use a mild shampoo and conditioner, and you might even consider a protein shampoo/conditioner but make sure you read and follow the instructions precisely (you usually only use it once a week). Also I would stay away from hot irons and hair dryers which damage your hair. If you get your hair coloured, make it is done properly.

I know this sounds weird, but make sure you are getting enough protein in your diet, it can cause thin hair, though it is relatively uncommon in the US and Europe. Also, I know this sounds very odd, but make sure you are getting enough iron in your diet. Iron deficency is the most common type of defiency in the world, and if extreme it can cause thin hair to complete hair loss. An easy (though not professional) way to check is to pull down your lower eyelid and see if it is a healthy pink underneath the dark pink layer. Again I know it sounds weird, but it is somewhat common and very often overlooked cause of hairloss.

Okay thinner can be caused by a number of different reasons. Your diet? Vitamin Deficiency can cause hair thinning. If you're under alot of stress, it could be hereditary (genes), the blood flow to your scalp can be diminishing. I would recommend going to see a doctor and he'll tell you the exact reason why.

Until then maybe taking vitamins, B6, B12, and A will help.

As for products....Volume = thicker LOOKING hair. It won't actually make the hair thicker just appear to be, plus if your hair is LIGHT in color that might be adding to the problem. Dying it Darker could help and plus Dyed hair also looks thicker because the Color swells up the hair shaft making the hair thicker.

You can cut your hair to de-emphasize the thinness. Bangs help a lot, as they draw attention to your face and away from your head. Also, cut shorter layers closer to your head, and longer layers towards the outside to give your hair more body.

Apart from that... you can style your hair so that some of it is piled on top of your scalp. Also, unless you are older, make sure to rule out a problem if you have been noticing a large amount of hair loss.

Do a pixie cut! (Think Natalie Portman). This will work especially well if you have fine features and a small face. I have very thin hair and I wore my hair this way for 10 years...I loved it! It's also a very easy style to dress up or down and it's very easy to deal with on a day to day basis.

In addition, a volumizing mousse (Sunsilk, Herbal Essences, etc.) can help. Instead of applying it all through your hair, try sectioning parts of your hair and rubbing the mousse into the roots. Then, flip your head over upside down and blow dry. If you do this at night instead of the day, do it before bed and use a plastic claw-clip to clip up the top section of your hair while you sleep (put it on the TOP of you head, not the back).

If you need to reactivate your product in the evening because your hair went flat during the day, try rubbing some water into the roots where the mousse was, and then blow-drying a little more.

I have lots of hair but fine strands so what I do is get highlights to open up the strand of hair %26amp; make it seem thicker.

There is a line of products called Nioxin that is made especially for thin hair. Another is called Body Double by Sebastian. I have not used Nioxin, but Body Double is wonderful. I used it before I went all over blonde for added fullness to my hair. Also keeping your hair cut shorter helps it to appear more full. I use a styling product that adds fullness %26amp; smooths made by TIGI called Small Talk. I love this stuff.

Aveda has a line of thickening products too. They contain clay that coats your hair to help it feel %26amp; appear thicker. It really works. I have used it.

I've got the same problem. I also have the same hair length. Weird. Anyway, I cut it so it was longer in the front than in the back. It became fuller and bouncier. Also, consider using a round brush, It makes it fuller. I used a bit of hair spray at the ends and inside of hair (part that touches cheek and back of neck). It made it appear thicker. Good Luck!

I don't really know about laser treatment for hair loss, before making a decision you should do more research about it.

What I can tell you is that Propecia is a medication proven to stop hair loss and potentially regrow hair, you can tell your boyfriend about it but he'll need to talk to his doctor and get a prescription first.

By the way, don't go online and buy the first pills that you come accross with, they will not work, Propecia is the only medication that is FDA approved.

Meanwhile you can check propecia.com for more information about it, the site does warns about a few side effects that will most likely won't occur, if they do happen all he needs to do is stop taking the medication.

What concenrs laser treatment. there is this company Lexington and their website hairmax.com they claim that they are fda approved and that they have very good results but I have never found any real proof for that. It may be has helped some guys to regrow some hair or make it look shiny and healthier, but I do not think it is a stand alone product . To see some more results I think you should combine with some other hair loss treatments what your bf's dermatologist recommend.

If you mean he's going for a laser treatment procedure at some hair loss medical center then it might give some more results, but just be sure he asks for real customer feedbacks and before and after pictures(they must be realistic, it will not give a horseshoe hairlined man a full head of hair that looks like a wig. if they show pics like that it's mostly a scam)

Contrarily, my ends always get very dry and knotted with regular conditioners- which means I need to buy very thick creamy conditioner for my ends (I dont use this on my scalp).

I use organic shampoos and conditioners too. It depends on what's in it. If you feel that your hair is too oily, and it's itchy, look for products that contain Tea Tree Oil. Tea Tree Oil is really good for irritated and itchy scalp. Also, Tea Tree has the tendency of drying oily scalps. Give it a try, but continue to shop around.

what are you talking about? The HAIR actually getting thinner,, or the overall appearance of volume:S. I know for a fact that straightening your hair for a period of time, damages your hair and thins it, causing split ends. Don't put product in it .. and try and not touch it as much as that will make it greasy..And when your straightening it i heard that if you touch your hair with your hands whilst its still hot then that makes it greasy so you never no .. watch that you don't do that.. If you go down your hair ultra slow with the straighteners it will burn more..and could make it greasy..but i don't no how fast you do it so yno :). And you could try using one of those shampoo %26amp; conditioners for greasy hair ?and see if that works..also make sure you totally wash it all out..don't leave any of it in..and don't use the leave in conditioner..as that will ad to greasy-ness..But yeah speak to your hairdresser .. and explain to her what happens.. and maybe she could help you..or layers might help I'm not sure.. Just speak to her about it

If you don't have layers, try blowdrying your hair by flipping your hair over... it will dry the hair in an upward position adding a little extra volume.

Again, be prepared to spend a few extra dollars, as with most things in life, you pay for what you get. If you want a great hairstylist who will give you the best options for your hair and a great cut, it will cost more.

Personally, I think it's worth it, as great stylists who understand hair can really improve your look, and won't let you go out with hair that will grow out and stick up all over the place.

keep your hair thick even though some days you might get reaaaly annoyed with it! If you get it thin now, in a few years you might regret it, since your hair gets thinner as you get older. The key to keeping thick hair under control is maintnence! use a nice conditioner to keep hair silky and Anti-Frizz serums and you should be fine, without getting your hair thin! good luck ;)
