What is that hting called when they make your hair thinner at the salon, by shaving you hair(not you

Im black have long culry-wavy hair and its really thick. I mean thicker than you can imagine. Well i was thinking of getting it thinned at the salon but i dont know what thats called. Also is it a good idea. Will it damage my hair and will my hair every grow back. Im getting it straightened to so im thinking of getting it thinned when i want to leave my hair curly, since it ets to thin when its straightened.

its actually called...thinning. they use thinning shears.

and it doesn't damage your hair and it will grow back, i have lots of friends who get it done every time they go and it makes their hair a lot easier to work with

razor cut thins out hair; however, since you really do not know i would suggest you just tell them you want to thin your hair out a bit. they'll know what to do

a razor cut? that's what i have on my bangs, and yes it does give you split ends, but you can use deep conditioner to help repair it. i love my razor cut, since i have diagonal bangs across one side of my face, and the slightly split ends give it a more dramatic look.

Its just called getting your hair thinned, they use a special sissor that cuts some of the hair sections 1-2 short while leaving the rest long.Im not sure if this would work well on your hair since it is curly, you have to be carefull because if they cut the sections too short youll have spikey hairs sticking up which is annoying. Some people think it is damaging but realy its just cutting random hairs short (close to the scalp) so I dont think it is damaging.I think a better option maybe relaxing or straightning your hair, have you tried that? getting the curl out will make it flatter, good luck
