well i used to have trich (which meant i pulled at my hair) but after a few bad months where one area got bad, ive stopped pulling for like 3 weeks now, but my hair has felt THINNER instead of the same or even better. my ponytail droops quicker, and i feel like theres no oomph in my hair even if i use a volumizing product.
whats happening here??
and what do i do?
im a healthy 20 year old that doesnt smoke, and eats fruit and veggies practically every day
i wear my hair up all the time to hide the "bad spot" (not bald spot) except at night and at night when its down it looks like it usually does, but feels a lot thinner when up
I am verrry worried that my hair is thinning?!?! HELP??
Hi, my daughter had this from birth and it took doctors 10 years to recognize she had a problem! Ive lived with it so know how hard this has been for you to stop for even 3 weeks! Congratulations, well done. Anyway, my daughters 14 now and has almost stopped pulling (She finds bed times are the worst) Her hair has taken 2 years to recover from the abuse it went through over the years. Its now starting to get long and has thickened up. Give it time Hun, your hair roots are trying to recover. Bear with it. Use a good conditioner and shampoo. Don't use hot curling/straightening products on your hair whilst it repairs itself and definitely don't colour your hair. Leave your hair down, tied up puts more strain on your hair and roots. Try wearing a trendy hat/cap. If you wanna chat about it mail me. Best of luck Hun.

I think you should see a nutritionist, you may be lacking something, since you are a vegetarian. You probably have a deficiency in Iron, maybe. Also, don't wash your hair every day, ever 2ND day is OK. And try to get a herbal/natural shampoo and conditioner.
No more scratching and pulling .OK? :)

I would suggest a good daily vitamin regimen. It is also good to make sure that you are getting sufficient protein in your diet. Avoid stress because it can cause excessive hair loss. You should be sure to get at least 8 hours of sleep. Good luck.

Of course you pull out your hair and that caused thinning hair. I suggest you use this brand Nioxin (you can google it). It actually helps hair growth. I suggest you use the tonic daily to help with hair growth. I've previously worked in a hair salon and i can tell you this product actually works. But is your scalp is getting too dry and itch you should alternate it with other shampoos and find a balance.
Is your scalp oily? Maybe that's the reason for it being droopy. Usually ppl who lose hair have oily scalp.
Check out that brand. It's good!

it's great you stopped pulling your hair. also wearing it up may put more strain on your roots. try a loose pony tail at the nape of your neck. also try some vitamins to help your scalp health.Biotin and a vitamin b-complex shoudl help as well as scalp massages to maximize blood flow. also have you talked to your doctor about your hair pulling?
