Can thinning shears be used on guys if hair is 3" long, and will the length stay the same?

I want to grow out hair but its extremely thick (which is good, at least I am not bald). It's also extremely wavy, I get cowlicks a lot.

You hair stylist/barber will know exactly how to do what you want, and you can always as them the question yourself before you go in.

Thinning shears DO thin your hair, but it's a possibility that your hair will also get a bit shorter. Also, make sure you tell them about your cowlicks, when they're thinned, they look horrible, especially if they are near your forehead.

Yes Thinning shears will help. and stay away from the cows. :-)

u don't just get cowlicks u always have them and never get rid of them thinning shears work great but you can't thin it too far close to the scalp because u will have all these loose hairs sticking up or out soo the hair does stay the same length but don't thin it too much!!!!
