Make My Hair Thinner!?

Hi, I Need help!

My hair is very thick and wire like. I need some way to soften it and make it thinner.. Some have recommended go a hair shop (I dunno what there called) and get it thinned... But isnt there a easier way such as a special shampoo or cream?

You can use a lightweight store brand styling cream and apply when the hair is wet. This will soften your hair and when it dries it will not be stiff like so many of the products out there. It is key to make sure that you pick a styling aid that doesn't contain alcohol. Alcohol is drying, but there are good kinds of alcohol that are contained in hair care products. I would suggest a product manufactured by DOVE. They are affordable and they work as well as a salon product. Now when it comes to thinning your hair you can do this, but be CAREFUL!! Pull the top section of your hair up and clip it to the top of your head. This is to ensure that it is out of the way. Then use a pair of thinning shears and cut into the remaining sections of hair. You can pick up a pair of thinning shears cheap at a WalMart or similar store. The thinning shears will only cut certain hairs and by doing so will thin the hair out. Start by thinning at the middle part of your section. AVOID THE TOP SECTION ALWAYS, unless done by a professional. Then comb your hair to remove any excess hair and voila! Thin, Soft Hair. Go to a Barber or Great Clips and have it thinned and then ask what product they would recommend to make it softer. They have alot of products in the shop. Great Clips or a walk in beauty shop you don't even need an appointment, Fantastic Sams is another or Custom Cuts.

Hey girl there are some products to help you. If your hair is really dry, with it seems like it is, then get some shampoo for dry hair and conditioner. You could also get your hair thinned by getting layers like me.

There is no easier way to do it. Every month or so I go to a salon (that is what we call it) and get a trim and have my hair thinned. They have a great tool that looks kind of like kindergarten scissors. But there is no way to chemically thin your hair. You can straiten it and that will make it seem a little thinner, but a hair stylist is definately the way to go
